What? Huh? How Many Drawers?

Mason and I discussing his responsibilities and one of them being keeping his room clean. I pointed out to him that with his new dresser that has six drawers and he got to keep his old dresser with four drawers, he has plenty of space for storage and his room does not need to be a mess.
He replied, "That's not accurate mom, that new dresser has six drawers but three of them are filled with clothes."
Did I miss something?

Love The Ordinary

This is exactly right! I love that we have extraordinary lives and we are fortunate that we get to travel and do so many of the things we do. Don't get me wrong, those things come with hard work but they are not the things that make me happy on the day to day level. What makes me happy is the love of my husband, when he brings me flowers just because. That Mason is heathy but he still would rather eat chips and candy than make a real meal. I love that Spencer will sleep with me on the couch and even more so that my husband thought to take a picture of it (it's one of my all time favorite photos!). He took the photo because he knows that the ordinary of our lives is what brings me so much joy. Thank you for posting this today, it's just perfect!

Every Thing Has A Place

All my decorating tools and supplies have a place. No more bags and boxes stacked all over the place!

I made the rule since we moved into the new and much bigger house that if it doesn't have a place, it can't stay. No more boxes of stuff unless it's holiday decorations.

What say you, do you have things you use somewhat frequently that you have in boxes in inconvenient locations?

What Would You Say?

When asked, "If you had 30 seconds to speak to the world, what would you say?" My reply, "Inspire your kids! Lift them up and encourage them to chase their dreams. While you're at it, set a great example and chase your dreams at the same time. Find things you can do to help each other to make those dreams come true! Imagine a world where our kids are making their dreams come true before they are teenagers, it's possible, I know. Inspire your kids and you, too will be inspired." What about you, what would you say?

SafeSmartSocial

This is really great and it's FREE! This is what employers and colleges will be seeing. If you have kids online, this is a great tool to see what they are doing and where they are going. I plugged in Mason's info even though I handle most of his online presence, he certainly can be doing some of his own stuff as well. I want to know.

Partak Family Fitness Challenge

We started a family weight loss/fitness challenge today. We weighed in and measured our middles - each of us setting our own path and chipping in to cook healthy meals. We will be doing our 2-2-2 workout, that's 2 minutes each of sit ups, push ups, and squats, we each chipped in $25 and the household account chipped in another $75 for $150 in prize money. Going for 45 days. I'll keep you posted.

The Silent Ranks

The Silent Ranks -

I wear no uniforms, no blues or greens. But, I am in the military, in the ranks rarely seen.
I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do not give.
But in the military world is where I live and am rarely seen.
I am not in the chain of command, orders I do not give or get.
But my husband is the one who does, this I can not forget.
I am not the one who fires a weapon, Who puts his life on the line.
But my job is just as tough, I'm the one who is always left behind. My husband is a patriot, a brave and pride filled man. And the call to serve his country not all can understand.
Behind the lines, I see things needed to keep this country free.
My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do my kids and me.
I love the man I married. The military is his life. So I pledge to support my hero and stand among the silent ranks known as
the military wife.

Empower Your Kids!

Mason loves any opportunity to get up and speak to a crowd. Here is a bit of the speech he gave to one of our Rotary clubs yesterday.
Mason would love to come speak to your group or at your event. Reach out to check Mason's availability and let's make it happen.
