The first principle in The Luck Factor by Dr. Richard Wiseman is "Maximize Your Chance Opportunities."
According to Dr. Wiseman, lucky people make the most of every situation they're in. Though at first blush, they'll say it's by chance that these opportunities present themselves, when actually it's the result of lucky people's psychological makeup. The way they think and behave makes them far more likely than others to create, notice, and act upon chance opportunities in their lives. Looking into this further, Dr. Wiseman found that for lucky people, being in the right place at the right time is actually about being in the right state of mind.
When you think you're lucky, you're living every moment of your life looking for something cool to happen. When it does, you think, I am so lucky!
