I have put the intention out there that I will be meeting a national buyer at the trade show I am currently attending. I've never met him, I don't know what he looks like, though I did speak with him on the phone once. I'm not sure how I am going to make this happen but I know I'm going to. If I have to ask other buyers, walk the floor and try to read badges, whatever I have to do, I will.
How far would you go to get to the next level? Will you put yourself out there and risk being told no, or even being perceived as "pushy?" I know I will do whatever it takes and I will write next week and share with you what that ended up being! Intentional Winning in alive and well!
Intentional Winning in Life is victory by design: Creating the journey and the outcome for every aspect of your life by participating in the process.

Road Trips Are Fun
Do you like to take road trips? I do! It's tough sometimes to be in the car for hours on end, but it's all how you plan ahead. Isn't that the way it is with everything? Plan ahead and even the most arduous task can be smooth sailing.
We are en route from from California to Colorado as you read this post. We have movies, music, snacks, and games. Better than all of those things are the funny things we talk about. Often it's the people we see along the way that give us the best thought provoking conversations. I'll share some of our adventures when we get back but for now, think about the last road trip you took, or better yet, plan a new one! Leave me a comment and tell me what you like best about road trips and where you want to go next! For us it's "Colorado or BUST!"

Seeing Dreams Come True
Today we will leave for the trade show that is THE place for us to sell our gloves, SIA (SnowSports Industry Association). The show is in Denver and I have very high hopes for lots of orders and the real launch of our ZipperBack Gloves.
You can't see your dreams come true if you don't take action. I know I say this all the time, but I'm living it and I want you to, too. Whatever it is you want for your life, start! No matter how long it takes, if you start you will get there! I know you will!

Success, Failure, and Prizes
If at first you don't succeed...see if the loser gets anything.
I love this. The fact of the matter is that you have to play to win and you won't win every time. It never hurts to see if there is a consolation prize. Heck, sometimes 2nd place is a better package. Look at American Idol, the person who wins is tied to a contract, rules, what the can do, where they have to go, etc. The person who comes in second already has the exposure and can now go negotiate their own record deal(s), publicity, appearances, etc. Not bad. As a matter of fact, in the case of AI, all you have to do is make it to the top ten to win!
Get out there and play, even if you don't win, you still win because you played!

When It Rains, It Pours!
We are in the midst of a number of big storms. We are getting inches and inches of rain and the Sierras will end up with over ten feet of snow! Some are saying, "This is the pits! Bad weather!" Really? Is rain bad weather? I don't think so, it's just rain. If you are dressed appropriately, it's no different than a bright sunny day. Heck, if you had to face the hottest day in July in a snow suit, that would surely be a bad day! Weather is weather, plan ahead, and choose to make every day a great day!

Laugh At Chaos!
We all have busy schedules that lead to crazy nights at home! Arriving home from work to make dinner, prepare for tomorrow, do homework, and so many other nightly tasks will often lead to everyone going in different directions at the same time. Find humor in your crazy nights. If you didn't have such a productive life, weeknights would be much calmer, but also a lot more boring! Laugh! It's good for the soul and when one of you starts laughing, everyone won't be able to help themselves; they'll be laughing, too!

The Clock Is Ticking
Today is January 15th, 1/2 way through the first month of a new year. Where will you be 1/2 way through the fourth month when the year is not so new? The point is, the clock is ticking and if you are not moving yourself or your life forward, you are dying...a little bit each day when you don't have hope and something to look forward to. Time will continue to pass no matter what you do, and you never know when you won't have tomorrow. Make the most of every day, start whatever it is you long to do, start! Simply starting will make you feel great because we all know, the clock is ticking!

Choose Happiness
Every morning Mason struggles to get out of bed and get ready for school. When he finally get's up, he's crabby. This troubles me for a number of reasons, but mostly because I want him to understand that he gets to choose his mood. He makes the choice to be happy or crabby. After almost six months of crabby mornings, he's getting it. If he starts to fall into that habit of crabbing, all I have to say is, "You get to pick the kind of day you're going to have. Are you going to have sad day or a happy day?" He will smile and say, "Happy!"
If a six year old little boy can realize that he can choose happiness, can't you?

Intentionally Smile Today!
Laughter is the invisible armor to protect us from the stresses of life. Find three things to smile or laugh about today. Even if it seems forced at first, it will get easier and come authentically the more you do it. The real beauty is that the more you laugh, the more you will find is funny making life fun!

Goals-Schmoals!
Everyone wants to set goals and make resolutions for the new year and I get it, it's the universal energy I wrote about on Wednesday. The thing is, we would be better served if we set the appropriate goal when it needed to be set and worked toward achieving that goal everyday. It's likely that you will have a new goal around the time of the new year, but don't be fooled into thinking that setting a goal at the start of a calendar year makes you any more likely to succeed. The only thing that will ensure success is the action you take every day moving you to achieving that goal.

Universal Energy
Why is it that January 1 of every year feels like the "Fresh Start?" Why can't the first of every month be "new?" I think it's because we all agree it's suppose to feel that way. If we all came together around the world and decided that July 1st was a new beginning, it would feel different.
When we all come together and agree on what something will or won't be, our thoughts, plans, energies, and actions create that very thing or feeling. If we all saw December 31st as any other night, we would be doing laundry, bathing our kids, and getting ready to go to work the next day. But we don't. We plan parties, shop for special dresses, drink champagne, and even wear party hats...we've all decided it's a special night and with that decision comes our energy and intention. If this one example isn't enough to convince you of the power of intention and universal energy, you'll never buy the idea!

Happy New Year!
Welcome 2010! I've been struggling through the last quarter and feel a renewed sense of hope. I'm hopeful for myself, my family, my friends, and so much more. There is such a strong universal energy that communicates a fresh start that it's hard to drag the difficulties from 2009 into this bright, new year.
I hope that you are feeling the positive buzz, too. The past is gone and the future is not here yet. All we have is the present and if you do something constructive, your future will certainly arrive with bells on! Happy New Year!
